In last 3 years important activities were accomplished to encourage export as well as local production for import replacement. In 2014 Georgia has signed an Association Agreement with EU, the Agreement introduces a preferential trade regime – the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) and gives more economic opportunities by opening further the EU market to Georgian agricultural goods. Export of Agricultural and food products increased by 19 % compared with 2012 and accounted $612 million in 2015, herewith import decreased by 13 % compared with 2012 and accounted $1.1 billion.
